Promoting and fundraising tips
  • Don’t be afraid to reach into the dusty pages of your contact list.
  • Write an e-mail campaign. Cut your time in half by setting up an e-mail list. Or send an e-card found in our Media section under "Event Details"
  • Import your contacts list directly onto your team webpage.
  • Personalize your webpage. Customize your headline message and upload a photo.
  • Utilize your social networking skills. Update your status, insert links in your profile and write a mass note to all of your network friends.
  • Add “SKECHERS Pier to Pier Friendship Walk” and website address to your e-mail signature.
  • Mention the SKECHERS Pier to Pier Friendship Walk to everyone you meet.
  • Print out a flyer from our Media section and distribute to neighbors, co-workers, places you visit regularly like the dry cleaner, grocery store, church, social clubs, etc.
  • Add a banner ad from our Media section to your website it you have one.
  • Encourage companies you do business with to become corporate sponsors. Direct them to the Sponsor section on www.pier2pierwalk.com.
  • Don't forget to say "Thank You"- you can find a Thank You e-card in our Media section.
FAQs

  1. What can I do if a check is written out to me personally?
    If a donation check has been written out to you personally, you may endorse the back of the check and mail it in with a completed donation form found here.
  2. Can I mail a cash donation in with a donation form?
    It is not a good idea to send a cash donation in the mail. You may drop off the cash at The Friendship Circle along with a completed donation form or you can deposit the cash into your checking account and send a personal check from your account with a completed donation form. The donation will be credited to the name on the donation form.
  3. How quickly can I expect an online donation to post to my fundraising page?
    Any donation made online should post to your fundraising page immediately. If your donation does not post within 24 hours, please contact jill@friendshipcirclesb.com.
  4. A donor is requesting a tax ID number; what is that and how can I get it?
    A tax ID number identifies a group as a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. Many donors will request this number to validate their donation as tax-deductible. You should use Tax l.D. 20-857-5157, The Friendship Circle of the South Bay.
  5. Where can I find my donation form to download, print and mail?
    Look for the form in our Media section, or click here.
  6. Where can I find a list of the people who have donated to me?
    Log in with your username and password to visit your fundraising page. Click on the My Donors button and you will find a list of all of your donors as well as a list of all donors to your team, if you are the team captain.
